Dear Bronx Science families,
It was wonderful to see so many of you at the PA meeting this past Tuesday! We heard lots of enthusiasm, curiosity, and general excitement about the education that our children are receiving at Bronx Science. And we’re thrilled that 14 parents are running for the open positions on the PA Executive Board and the School Leadership Team. The full list of candidates is below.
Elections will be held at the next PA meeting on October 18, and it’s a meeting you won’t want to miss. After the PA/SLT elections, we’ll hear from Sara Harberson, a former UPenn admissions officer (who was in charge of reading applications from BxSci students!) and now an in-demand college advisor. She’ll be speaking about a topic that should be of great interest to every parent in our community: “Trends in College Admissions Impacting Bronx Science Students.” Read our Q&A with Sara here.
And, as icing on the cake, Sara will raffle off a free consultation — a $3,000 value! The winning family will get Sara’s expert advice on college applications. She will review all of the student’s materials (transcript, test scores, extracurricular activities, interests, etc.) and make recommendations on how to approach the college process. You must be present to win. So mark your calendar for Wednesday, Oct. 18!
