The 2020-21 PA budget, which was unanimously approved this past week included a line item to provide increased bandwidth for the school. According to Bronx Science Computer Technology Specialist Willie Lugo, “the school is extremely grateful to the PA for funding this critical and essential upgrade. The $39,000 expenditure for internet connectivity allows the school to increase the internet bandwidth from 1Gbps to 3Gbps. The technology demands to support our new blended learning environment of in-person and remote instruction for a Bronx Science community of almost 3,000 students, 140+ teachers and 40+ support staff, required an internet upgrade to prevent teachers and students from experiencing disruption of live instruction.”
If your student(s) experiences any tech issues, please encourage them to email: helpdesk@bxscience.edu Willie will get back to them with a solution promptly. The PA also recently purchased $2,800 in free-standing plexiglass desktop barriers for the Guidance Department.
In order to provide funding for essential resources and services such as these, the PA needs support from you. Our goal is 100% participation – every family donating some time, and/or money to our school. Thank you!
