Dear Bronx Science Families,
Happy 2016 everyone! We hope you all had a restful and enjoyable break. As we begin a new year, we thought it was a good time to reaffirm the objectives of the Bronx Science Parents’ Association – your connection to your teen’s school community. As stated in our by-laws, the PA’s objectives are to promote the education, interests, health, and welfare of the students at The Bronx High School of Science; to foster and encourage parental participation in the school; and to develop a cooperative working relationship between parents and staff of the school.
We meet these objectives by raising funds for school programs and resources through events like our Annual Spring Auction and Dinner, our Phone-a-thon and Annual Appeal. We also offer our help to the school by volunteering our time at important school events like Prospective Student Open Houses and the Senior Research Dinner and Poster Exposition. Every month, we offer meaningful programs for parents that help us assist our kids with everything from navigating the stressful college application process to steering them through tumultuous teen-age times.
We hope that in 2016, you find great value in attending meetings, volunteering at events and supporting Bronx Science in any way you can.
Yours,
Ellen Dubin and Betsy Newberry
Parents’ Association Co-Presidents
