District Representative – Education Committee Members

Dear Board members and Parents’ Association co-presidents: yesterday afternoon the Espaillat bill was put on the April 28 meeting Agenda of the NY Senate Education Committee. The Espaillat bill, as recently amended, would repeal the Hecht-Calandra Act to give the DOE/Mayor full discretion to use ‘multiple measures of merit’ for admissions including middle school grades, teacher recommendations and student portfolios. I list the members of the Senate Education Committee below. We should write a letter on behalf of the Association to each member of the committee.
