This past August, PA board member Weimin Huang and SLT parent member Irene Chang (with help from a handful of enthusiastic parent volunteers like Jing Gao) hosted a series of well-attended PA events in Queens for the many Chinese-speaking BxSci parents. This winter, the PA will once again be traveling to Queens!
Coming up are three Saturday sessions, all of which will be conducted only in Chinese. These events will be held at the Briarwood branch of the Queens Library, located at 85-12 Main Street, Briarwood, NY 11435.
January 6, Saturday, 10:30am-12:30pm: What is a private college-admissions counselor, and does your child need one?
January 27, Saturday, 10:30am-12:30pm: How to prepare your child for the BxSci research program (tips on searching for mentors, interviewing, etc.)
February 3, Saturday, 10:30am-12:30pm: Workshop for junior parents on how to help your child complete the counselor questionnaire in Naviance
These three events will be in Chinese only, but sometime in early 2018, the PA will also host an English-language event in Queens. Stay tuned for details!
