Dear Parents & Guardians:
Hope indeed springs eternal! The re-opening of high schools on March 22nd marks an important milestone in the city’s rebound. And the announced resumption of sports was more welcome news.
At Bronx Science, our students participated in an assembly on Thursday hosted by the S.O. Student Leadership Cabinet in conjunction with the Anti-Defamation League and the U.S. Marine Corps. The assembly, which was open to parents, featured a digital tour entitled “No Place For Hate.” If you missed it, you can check out the website here. We encourage our families to have a discussion about it.
These recent developments mean we have much to discuss at our next PA meeting tomorrow, Monday, March 15th at 7pm. We will hear a report from Principal Rachel Hoyle, who will address a wide range of issues, including end-of-year plans for our seniors. But the evening will feature a student panel moderated by Assistant Principal Andrew Nasser. Topic: What the Pandemic Has Taught Us. The conversation will focus on lessons learned and on our students’ expectations and hopes for what lies ahead. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
