The Bronx Science School Leadership Team (SLT) is a committee with the primary mission of developing the school’s Comprehensive Education Plan; its broader assignment is to help advance best practices within the school. The SLT consists of administrators, teachers, para-professionals, students and parents; with a newly-elected parent member joining this month, we thought it would be helpful for you to know a little about all your parent representatives. MEET YOUR SLT MEMBERS …
Jonathan Freedman is the parent of a Senior at the school. He is also an alumnus of Bronx Science, Class of 1974. He is a partner in the international law firm Sidley Austin LLP, where he is co-head of the New York Insurance Practice Group. His practice focuses on Capital Markets transactions in the insurance industry.
Jerome Kramer is the father of a junior and serves as a co-president of the Bronx Science Parents’ Association; he has been a longtime education advocate and volunteer and has maintained a career in communications, media and publishing.

Junnie Mark-Kobashi is the proud mother of two teenagers, who are 12th & 9th graders at Bronx Science. They are also a BxSci alumni family as her husband is a BxSci graduate. Junnie is an Emergency Medicine night-shift doctor, and dedicates many daytime hours volunteering at schools, including 10 consecutive years as elementary school class mom, and four years as middle school PTA president. She is currently serving on the BxSci Health & Wellness committee. She served on the BxSci SLT in 2017-2019, and is honored to have just been re-elected for the 2020-21 SLT.
Kathy Qi. Kathy is a proud mother of a junior at Bronx Science. This is Kathy’s second term and third year on SLT. Kathy is a CFA, MBA and has been a Finance Officer at the United Nations for 18 years. In the past 10 years, Kathy dedicated her off-duty hours volunteering at schools, both private and public. At Bronx Science, Kathy has been actively involved in parent activities and contributed through various roles such as co-chair of the PA nominations committee; SLT parent representative; and organizer of a fund-raising event during COVID-19. Kathy lives in Bronx with her son and her husband, Eugene, who is a capital market attorney.
Ayelet Yoles is the mother of a current 10th grader and two graduates from 2019 and 2015. When not attending SLT meetings, she practices as a public health dentist at a community health center in the Bronx, and takes nice long walks around the reservoir that sits by the school. As a former student from the graduating class of 1986, she is still wondering where the pool is…
