Dear Bronx Science parents,
At our PA meeting last Wednesday, our guest speakers were five very smart, articulate, candid, and funny BxSci alumni from the Class of 2017. Parents at the meeting were comforted (but not surprised) to hear that every single one of these recent graduates felt that Bronx Science prepared them very well for college, both academically and in terms of time management. It was also nice to hear that they communicate with their parents once or twice a week – and they actually like doing it! Other things they said: Being homesick is normal. Some college students are shockingly wealthy. Drugs and alcohol are present on campus, but students can easily choose not to partake. The food at college just isn’t that good. Care packages from home, especially if they contain snacks, are always welcome.
Our wonderful panelists were (from left to right in the photo) Ryan from UPenn, Sharon from Cornell, George from UMich, Sam from Georgetown, and London from Hamilton College. They helped make our final PA meeting a really fun one!
This week at Bronx Science, underclassmen are taking their Regents exams, while seniors are getting ready for graduation day (which is this Thursday). We wish all exam takers the best of luck, and we congratulate the senior class on graduating from the best high school in the world!
