Dear Bronx Science parents,
Happy Memorial Day weekend! Hope you’re all enjoying time with family and friends.
It’s been a fantastic year at BxSci so far. If you were at last Monday’s PA meeting, you heard Principal Donahue and AP Guidance Mr. Nasser talk about some of the recent achievements of BxSci students. Our children are racking up academic honors; being awarded top prizes in science, foreign language, technology, and the arts; winning athletic awards; and enthusiastically participating in a wide variety of extracurricular activities. Also, this year’s college admissions results have been highly impressive, with many seniors getting into the most selective schools. To give you an idea of the terrific results, three of the country’s best public universities accepted hundreds of BxSci seniors: Binghamton (312 acceptances), Stony Brook (279), and University of Michigan (126).
In other great news, the PA’s Spring Auction raised more than $108,700 (net $80,000+) for our school! Scroll down to read the details.
More celebratory events are happening in the final few weeks of school, and we hope you’ll join us in the Bronx for some of these. Please volunteer to help. We especially need 9th, 10th, and 11th grade parents to help at the Senior Awards Reception on June 4. And we need parents from every grade to welcome hundreds of new BxSci families at the Incoming Parents’ Breakfast on June 7.
Hope to see you at one of these events next week!
