Dear Bronx Science families,
Midyear exams are done, and the first semester is over! Keep in mind there’s no school tomorrow, so hopefully our children can use the extra day to rest and relax before they get busy again with the last half of the school year.
Some great news: You may have already heard that the PA-funded broadband upgrade is now a reality! BxSci teachers can now use the Internet in classrooms without agonizingly long waits for pages to load; students can go online to collaborate on school projects; and everyone at school can access wi-fi. The Internet is crucial to effective instruction, so this initiative was an important one for the school administration this year, and it was a big budget item for the PA. An enormous thank-you to all the families whose generosity made it possible!
Your donations to the PA are benefiting your children in many other ways as well. Here are some of the things that PA funds have paid for in January alone: snacks for Mental Health Week activities, various expenses for the academic teams (including Speech & Debate, Robotics, and Model UN), electronic subscriptions for the school library, and College Fair invitations sent to hundreds of college admissions officers.
