Is my teen’s behavior normal? How much time, if any, should my child be spending on social media? Why is my daughter so stressed all the time, and how can I help her? Are other people’s kids as uncommunicative and monosyllabic as my son is? What’s the best way to talk to my children about cigarettes, drugs and alcohol?
These are common questions and concerns among parents of high schoolers, and our next PA meeting speaker is prepared to address them all. Come hear psychotherapist Sean Grover lead an interactive session about how we can help our teens navigate the volatile years of adolescence. Sean is a skilled and inspiring speaker with more than 25 years of experience as a therapist working with adults and children. Read our brief Q&A with Sean here, and come with your questions on Monday, Nov. 13, starting at 7pm! As always, Vallo will provide free bus service for parents from Manhattan and Queens to the PA meeting. Click here for information on how to reserve a bus seat.
If you’re able to come to school a little earlier that evening, head straight to the Bronx Science Library for the Resource Fair for Parents, which will be held from 5:30-7pm, right before the PA meeting. The Bronx Science Guidance Office has invited a variety of teen-oriented organizations and companies to engage one-on-one with interested parents. Exhibitors at the Resource Fair will include tutoring and test-prep companies, therapists and other medical professionals, financial aid advisors, organizations offering summer programs and employment opportunities within NYC, and more.
