Thursday, May 26, 2016, Neil DeGrasse Tyson ’76; Dr. George Yancopoulos ’76, chief scientific officer at Regeneron; members of Society for Science & the Public; alumni and other guests attended an event in our auditorium to announce that Regeneron Pharmaceuticals will become the new sponsor for the Science Talent Search. The event was a great celebration as Regeneron plans to invest $100 million over 10 years in the nationwide high school competition. Tyson introduced Yancopoulos, founder of Regeneron, who was Bronx Science valedictorian in 1976 and a Westinghouse Science Talent Search Finalist the same year. The Science/Math/Technology/Social Science Expo was the same day, and our guests were able to attend and view some of today’s Bronx Science talent.
