It’s Time for PA Elections!
Take a leadership role in helping our school community be the best it can be by running for a leadership position. All positions on the Executive Board are open for rising 10th, 11th and 12th grade parents and guardians, as well as 2 positions on the School Leadership Team (SLT). You may nominate yourself or someone else. These positions are now available:
Two Parent Representatives on the SLT: The SLT plays an advisory role to the principal and to the school leadership. Team members share their ideas and concerns and listen to the ideas and concerns of others. SLT members develop the annual school Comprehensive Educational Plan and consults with parent representatives regarding federal reimbursable funding (e.g. Title I).
Up to 3 Co-Presidents: The President is the leader of the organization and runs the monthly all-membership meetings. The President co-signs checks and appoints chairs to committees. At least 1 President will serve as the core member of the Student Leadership Team. They will also attend various meetings, such as the District President’s Council and Office of Family and Community Empowerment trainings.
Up to 3 Co-Vice Presidents: The Vice-President supports the President and may sometimes take over those duties as needed. While supporting all PA initiatives, each Vice-President focuses on one area; Operations, Fundraising and Community Relations.
Up to 2 Co-Treasurers: The Treasurer handles all the finances. The Treasurer keeps records of income and expenditures, co-signs checks, and gives a financial report at all general membership meetings. The Treasurer also makes sure tax documentation is submitted on time.
One Assistant Treasurer: The Assistant Treasurer helps the Treasurer keep all the financial records. The Assistant Treasurer deposits money into the PA bank account, records all donations, and handles the paperwork for corporate matching funds.
Up to 3 Co-Recording Secretaries: The Recording Secretary writes out a record of all association meetings and maintains sign-in sheets at meetings. Those meeting records are emailed out to membership, kept on file in the office, and are updated on the PA website. The Recording Secretary also incorporates all amendments into the by-laws.
One Corresponding Secretary: The Corresponding Secretary helps the Recording Secretary. They communicate signups for volunteer events and set up Signup Genius to record volunteers.
Three Members-at-Large: The members-at-large attend Parents’ Association meetings and functions and serve on special committees or projects.
