Dear Fellow Bronx Science Parents and Guardians,
We hope that everyone is well and that you are enjoying this lovely early fall weather. As our students and their families settle into a sense of routine, the PA continues its preparations for various fall events, including College Night for juniors and seniors on Tuesday, October 8, the October 15 Open House for prospective students, the October 17 PA Meeting and Election and the October 22 Coffee with The Principal and Safety Town Hall Meeting. This last session provides an in-person opportunity for our parents and guardians to hear from those who work hard to keep the entire school community safe! Following the presentation, parents and guardians are invited for a special tour of our school’s Holocaust Museum.

Volunteering Opportunities
It is exciting to hear from new parents who are eager to become involved in our school community. For those who are running for positions, we appreciate your enthusiasm and generosity. For other parents who would like to contribute their time and skills, there are many ways to volunteer, either at individual events or on an ongoing basis through membership on a PA committee or subcommittee. In addition to supporting the school, our students and our staff, volunteering is a great way to meet people and have fun! Your next opportunity to serve as a volunteer will be on October 15 at the Open House, when prospective students and their families will visit Bronx Science to learn about our academic and extracurricular programs. Please see the post below to see how you can help to support our Open House and to sign up for a volunteer shift.
Other Upcoming Events
A reminder that the next PA meeting will be held on Thursday, Oct 17, via Zoom only and registration will be required to attend. Please click HERE to register for the meeting and HERE for the agenda. A link to attend the meeting will be emailed to those who have registered. The PA meeting will not be recorded, except for the election portion of the meeting. September PA meeting draft minutes can be found on our website.
During this meeting, we will be conducting our fall election to fill spots reserved for 9th and new 10th grade parents and guardians. The PA appreciates all the nominees who stepped forward to bring their diverse skills to the PA Executive Board and the School Leadership Team. Now…get ready for an evening filled with hilarity and good cheer! We are thrilled about our LIVE Comedy Night, which will be held at Gotham Comedy Club on Tuesday, December 3! All Bronx Science parents, guardians, teachers, staff, and admin are invited! Please see the Comedy Night post for more details.
Lastly, we’d like to send our best wishes to those who observed Rosh Hashanah this past week and who are observing Navaratri and acknowledge Indigenous People’s Day/Italian Heritage Day and remind our families that school is closed on Monday, October 14. We look forward to seeing you in what promises to be busy, productive, and fun weeks ahead!
