October is almost upon us, and the PA is busy preparing for our upcoming elections and the Fall Open House for prospective students. More on these and other events below, but first, some highlights from last week’s successful Project Accepted event.
Each year, Project Accepted provides an invaluable experience for our seniors, with many reporting that they gain a better understanding of how to fine tune their college essays and have more confidence interviewing. This unique opportunity would not be possible without The Bronx Science Foundation, the enthusiasm of our alumni and their dedication to help the next generation of graduates! This enthusiasm is also present throughout the rest of our community. If you and your child toured Bronx Science in person, you may recall how special this school felt on that first visit! We invite all parents and guardians to come and share their experience with middle school families during our Fall Open House on Tuesday, October 15. The PA plays an important role in this event, and we heavily rely on parent and guardian involvement. See the Open House post below for more details, available shifts, and a link to volunteer.
You are invited to join Principal Hoyle for the first coffee on Tuesday, October 22 from 8:30-9:30 AM, in person, at the school! Principal Hoyle will be joined by our Director of Safety, Ms. Vana Loukissas, the entire School Safety Committee, along with representatives from the 52nd precinct for the annual Safety Town Hall Meeting. Don’t miss this chance to hear from those who work hard to keep our students and the entire school community safe! Following the presentation, parents and guardians are invited for a special tour of our school’s Holocaust Museum.

A reminder that the next PA meeting will be held on Thursday, Oct 17, via Zoom only and registration will be required to attend. During this meeting, we will be conducting our fall election to fill spots reserved for 9th and new 10th grade parents and guardians. The PA appreciates all the nominees who stepped forward to bring their diverse skills to the PA Executive Board and the School Leadership Team. The slate of candidates and link to register for this meeting will be available in the October 6 newsletter.
