Dear Fellow Bronx Science Parents and Guardians,
Batter up! This is the last week to grab your tickets for a Night Out at Yankee Stadium on Friday, May 17 at 7:05 PM. Join BxSci families, teachers, staff, and friends for a fun and relaxed evening while we cheer on the Yankees! Purchase discounted tickets here, which includes a $15 voucher for food or beverage at the game. Ticket sales end on May 9 at 11:59 PM and there are a limited number of tickets left. Please note, this is a community event, not a fundraiser.
Election Notice! Elections for our Parents’ Association Executive Board and for our upper class SLT representative will take place at our next meeting on Wednesday, May 15, at 7PM, which will be held virtually. Registration is required for this meeting, and the meeting link will be provided once you register here. For verification purposes, please register using the same email address at which you receive school communications. The slate and bios of candidates who were nominated for the executive board by the time nominations closed on April 17 can be found here. Since that date, we have had two withdrawals, so we will be taking nominations from the floor for Member At Large ONLY on May 15. Nominations for SLT remain open until after the conclusion of the Executive Board elections. SLT candidate bios that were submitted by the April 19 deadline can also be found at this link. On May 1, the Bronx Science College Office held its annual college fair for 10th and 11th graders. Afterward, our hospitality team hosted the representatives for dinner. Many thanks to Hospitality Committee Co-Chair Lilach Bar and to Hospitality team member Luisa LaFleur for their roles in planning and hosting the dinner. Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! For students and their families who would like to send notes of appreciation to their teachers and staff, here is the list of all faculty emails for your reference. The PA will be hosting a lunch for all faculty and staff in June to show our appreciation, and it is one of many events coming up!
We know it’s a busy time of year for all, but we need MANY volunteers to recognize our teachers, help welcome back our supportive alumni, celebrate our outgoing seniors, welcome new families, and showcase our school to prospective students.
Shifts are created to make volunteering more manageable. Please sign up for any shifts that you can.

As we close this week’s newsletter, we want to acknowledge all our senior students. While some seniors made their decision months ago, and some are still awaiting key financial information before they commit, the month of May represents the end of a long journey, filled with lots of hard work, anticipation, and a range of emotions. We hope our students take a moment to reflect on that journey, take pride in the work they put in, and celebrate the possibilities ahead.
To help our senior families add a little flair to celebrations in the coming months, the Bronx Science PA is delighted to present the ’24 Graduation Celebration Toolkit. Please find an assortment of designs to choose from to create special banners, signs, and other decorations. We thank former BxSci parent Sau Wai and current BxSci parent Alex Chirinian for creating this wonderful resource!
We wish you all the best as your kids start taking their AP exams, have their end-of-year performances, and start prepping for finals and Regents in June.
