In light of last week’s tragedy disclosed by Principal Hoyle, we encourage anyone seeking additional support to reach out to the school. Please refer to the recent emails from Principal Hoyle and Assistant Principal of Pupil Personnel Andrew Nasser sent on 3/20 and 3/21, respectively, for additional resources. The family and their friends are close to our hearts, and we respect their need for privacy. Our thoughts are also with our entire community during this difficult time.

Dear Fellow Bronx Science Parents and Guardians,
Spring is officially here, and with the change of season, we are preparing for changes at Bronx Science. We will welcome new families to Bronx Science while supporting our seniors as they complete the college process. Also, our upcoming elections will usher in new PA leadership. Spring also means lots of social events, as detailed below.
But first, it was wonderful to see so many of you at last week’s Coffee With The Principal. We appreciate the perspective the student panel provided on a variety of summer institutes sponsored by the Bronx Science Foundation, which provides our students numerous educational, cultural, and unique experiences and is part of what makes our school so special. Thank you to Principal Hoyle for hosting these Coffees as a way for our community to gather and learn about opportunities like this. Also, thanks to Lilach Bar and Karah Rempe for providing coffee and delicious pastries for the hospitality portion of this event. Please find pictures from the event here.
Regarding hospitality, we have a high priority need for new Hospitality Co-Chairs to start shadowing our current Co-Chairs this spring and to lead in the fall. There are numerous ways to get involved! As mentioned, PA Executive Board and School Leadership Team (SLT) elections are coming up. Please see the Election post for an important Nominating Committee message which includes position details and deadlines.
We are also in need of event volunteers. The main event next week is the Accepted Students Open House on Wednesday, March 27. This is a fun and energetic occasion, and there are only a few spots left. Click here to view volunteer time slots and to sign up.
Then, just around the corner is the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony and dinner on Tuesday, April 16. We are seeking 10 parent volunteers to help with the dinner. Signup for this event here. Student volunteers should contact NHS advisor Paul DeSilva.
We will have more events this spring and rely on our community for continued support, so be on the lookout for more information in future newsletters.
