Dear Fellow Bronx Science Parents and Guardians,
We hope your students were able to enjoy the long weekend!
Last week, we reported that the PA hosted a teacher and staff lunch on January 26. Attendees were thrilled to have a delicious lunch provided for them and passed along their thanks and appreciation! Please enjoy some photos from this event.
If you have not already done so, mark your calendars for our next in-person PA Meeting, Tuesday, February 13. The PA will be hosting dinner at 6:30 PM, with PA business at 7 PM, and a choice between two special presentations. Please RSVP for the meeting here.
As a reminder, the presentation for 9th-11th grade parents and guardians is a courtesy repeat of the course selection process given by Assistant Principals Dr. Allison Davis and Andrew Nasser. For our 12th grade parents and guardians, or anyone else interested, we will be hosting a separate session with a panel of parents of recent BxSci graduates to discuss “Things I Wish I Knew Before My Kid Went to College.” This promises to be another engaging and heartfelt conversation, and we encourage you to join our fabulous lineup of former BxSci parents for this special event!
During PA business, we will also introduce and elect the Nominating Committee for our May elections. More details will follow on how BxSci parents and guardians may run for positions on the PA Executive Board (EB) and School Leadership Team (SLT) this spring. We are excited to see the diverse talents and skills our community has to offer being represented!

There will not be a remote option for this meeting, and we remind you that PA meetings are not recorded, except for elections. The next Coffee with the Principal is Thursday, February 15 at 8:30 AM.It will provide an overview of the 3-year BxSci Research Program, and will be led by Dr. Allison Davis and a panel of research students, followed by a tour of the Manne Institute. Please RSVP for this in-person event here by Tuesday, February 13 at 9 AM.
Fundraising is still underway, and the PA has met 80% of its Annual Appeal goal. Thank you to all who have contributed so far! We would like to reach our target within the next month so we can fully focus on the upcoming Spring Gala. To help us reach our target, please see the Annual Appeal post below.
As the Spring Gala countdown continues, there are a few ways you can help. The current focus is securing items for the big night, from donations (such as experiences, gift cards or cash) and sponsorships, to bottles of wine. Our Spring Gala committee is depending on our community to help make this event a success! Please also make sure to save the date of April 11, and when the time comes, buy your tickets to attend.
