We would like to thank everyone who attended our PA meeting on Wednesday night, which featured a special presentation by Adam Ingersoll from Compass Education. We appreciate Adam’s thoughtful and pragmatic insight regarding college admissions testing. As promised, please find the Compass Guide to College Admission Testing here. Additional materials on this important topic will be provided as they become available. The PA will also continue to invite speakers to discuss topics of interest to our community, and we are fortunate to have experts visit our community to engage with us. Many of these speakers have expressed a preference for in-person dialogue around these important topics, and we would be thrilled to see more of you at these in-person meetings. Not only does in-person attendance improve the conversation, but such connection breathes life into our community.
Please mark your calendars for our next in-person PA meeting on Wednesday, December 13. There will be pre-meeting festivities starting at 6:00 PM with food, swag sales and a chance for our community to come together. We are pleased to announce that our guest speaker will be Eleanor Coufos, Class of ’99 and President of the Bronx Science Foundation. Eleanor will share her wealth of knowledge and tips on how our kids can make the most out of their summers, and this is your opportunity to learn more about the Foundation. That evening, the Spring Gala team will also be holding a raffle for an iPhone 15 Pro. See the Spring Gala post below for details on how to buy your raffle tickets. This is a night you won’t want to miss! We will also need volunteers for this event, so please be on the lookout for more information.
As we approach Thanksgiving, we are reminded of how grateful we are to be part of the Bronx Science community. In the spirit of the season, Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving, will be held on November 28. As you weigh the organizations and causes you support, please consider a year-end gift to the Bronx Science Parents’ Association Annual Fund.
