News from Our Co-Presidents – June 11, 2023

We hope this finds you all well. This certainly has been an atmospheric week!

Before the skies turned orange, the PA had a busy week helping with an epic merchandise event on Alumni Day, a post-award reception for Senior Awards, and managed to squeeze in an Open House for prospective students. See below for pictures from these events and the In The Spotlight post for recognition of all our volunteers.

Although we were disappointed that we couldn’t welcome families for the Incoming Parent Breakfast, we are happy to report that the PA will turn this into an impromptu breakfast for all our teachers, staff, and administration tomorrow. In addition, the PA has a planned lunch for all faculty and staff on Thursday. We like our teachers and staff well-fed.

June has also been a busy month for our students, packed with concerts, awards, performances and festivities! The PA is happy to support these events, and we hope many of you attended some of the magnificent performances. Thank you all for your contributions this year which helped our students in countless, marvelous ways.

On that note, the PA continues to acknowledge those folks who have been instrumental in the PA’s operations this year. This week, we recognize all our stellar senior parent and guardian volunteers (too many to list here!). These parents have shown up for events for the past 4, 6 and even 8 years! They have taken on PA leadership roles, committee roles, guided us, encouraged us, and passed on their institutional knowledge. To them, we say THANK YOU. Please know that you have left an indelible mark on our community, and Bronx Science will always have a special place for you. Also, don’t go too far, because we love to have parents of our graduates return for panels and events.

Looking ahead, a reminder that our last PA meeting of the school year is in person at the school this Tuesday, June 13 at 7 PM. We will be joined by a panel of BxSci graduates, moderated by AP Andrew Nasser. These graduates will share their college experiences, how Bronx Science prepared them, and much more. It is not too late to submit your questions here. We would love to see many of you for our final chance to gather at the school this year, and to show our recent graduates our support.
