Dear Fellow Bronx Science Parents & Guardians,
The PA is busy preparing for our upcoming elections, annual open house for prospective students and coffee with Principal Hoyle- all great opportunities for our parent community to get involved. More on these below, but first we wanted to highlight last week’s successful Project Accepted event.
The Bronx Science Alumni Foundation’s 9th annual Project Accepted event once again provided our seniors with valuable experience on the college application and interview process. It’s one of the many ways Bronx Science alumni support our school. The PA extends a heartfelt thank you to all the alumni volunteers who lent their time and energy to assist the next generation of graduates. Please enjoy some photos from this incredible event below!
We would also like to thank our parent and guardian volunteers who ran the hospitality portion of this event (see In The Spotlight post). These efforts elevate our school functions, help build our community and showcase the importance of our hospitality team. We are still actively looking for one to two more volunteers to join our hospitality co-chair. This is a fun way to make a real impact and give back to our school. Upcoming Events
PA Meeting and Election. Please mark your calendars for our next PA meeting, which will be held virtually on Wednesday, Oct 19. During this meeting, we will be conducting our fall election to fill spots reserved for incoming and freshman parents. The PA appreciates all nominees who stepped forward to bring their diverse skills to the PA Executive Board and the School Leadership Team. Please take a moment to review the slate of candidates and their bios here. As a parent or guardian of a Bronx Science student, you are a voting member of the PA and we encourage you to make your voice heard in this upcoming election. Participants will be required to pre-register for this meeting. Stay tuned for details in next Sunday’s e-newsletter.
Coffee With The Principal. Please join us on Thursday, October 20 from 8:30-9:30 AM for coffee and snacks and to meet with Principal Hoyle and Director of Safety, Vana Loukissas. This is an in-person* meeting only, to be held at the school. Please RSVP for this event here by Thursday, Oct 13 at 9:00 AM. Please submit questions in advance for the Safety Committee by Tuesday, October 18 at 9:00 AM by clicking here. This event will not be recorded.

Comedy Night. Former Bronx Science parent Zarna Garg and friends return to entertain the Bronx Science community with a virtual evening fundraiser filled with hilarity and maybe even a few tears. If you are not familiar with the journey of Zarna’s comedic rise, fostered by her daughter Zoya Garg ‘21, this 2021 NYT piece is worth the reintroduction and the read. We welcome Zarna and her comedian friends and appreciate their continued support of our school. Let’s make this event a success again!

Fall 2022 Open House. If you and your child toured Bronx Science in person, you may recall how special this school felt on
that first visit. If you did not have that opportunity, we are glad you still chose Bronx Science. We invite all parents and guardians to come and share their experience with middle school families who are going through the high school admissions process. We need many volunteers for this event, and we look forward to the broad participation from our community. No experience needed- just bring your enthusiasm!
