Bronx High School of Science Parents' Assocation

Many Parent Volunteers Needed in Early June

There’s a lot happening at school in the first week of June, and we need many parents to help out. Please consider signing up as a volunteer for one or more of the events listed below. You’ll have a lot of fun! Take it from freshman parent Sue Narine, who recently said this in an email: “I have had the privilege of volunteering at a few PA events now. At each event, I’m always in awe at the energy, the warmth, the coordination and the camaraderie of the volunteers. BxSci parents are all so welcoming! I’ll especially miss many of the senior parents who helped with our family’s initial transition to Bronx Science. Thanks for all your smiles!”

June 3, Sunday: Alumni Day
This very special event is hosted by the Bronx Science Alumni Foundation. BxSci alumni of all ages are invited, and they’ll be spending the day at school reminiscing with old friends, attending a series of talks given by accomplished alumni, and hearing about what Bronx Science is like today. The PA will be selling BxSci merchandise in the lobby, and we need parents to help sell! Please sign up here.

June 6, Wednesday: Spring Open House for 7th Graders
We need parents to help meet and greet prospective BxSci students and their families. Answer their questions and share your experiences! Please sign up here.

June 7, Thursday: Incoming Parents’ Breakfast
Eighth graders who will be BxSci freshmen in the fall will be coming to school the morning of June 7th to take placement tests and get their ID photo taken. The PA will be hosting an informal meet-and-greet for their parents in the cafeteria. We need many volunteers to help serve breakfast, chat with incoming parents, and sell merchandise. Please sign up here.
