On Monday night, Feb. 12, you won’t want to be anywhere but Bronx Science. At our PA meeting, you’ll get to attend one of two important sessions.
Course Selection: This session will be valuable for parents of 9th, 10th, and 11th graders. The school’s Assistant Principals will explain how your child can choose which courses to take next year, the timeline for doing so, and the various types of “special permission” classes and electives. (This will be a repeat of the presentation given at the Breakfast with the Principal on Jan. 17.)
Sending Your Child Off to College: For parents of 12th graders (or parents of underclassmen who already know all about course selection), there will be a panel discussion and Q&A on preparing for college. Parents of last year’s 12th graders will talk about what they wish they knew before sending their children to college, how often they communicate with their college-age kids, how they keep tabs on their children’s spending, what surprises they’ve come across, and so on.
Don’t miss this meeting! As always, Vallo will kindly provide free round-trip transportation for parents from Manhattan and Queens. Click here for pickup times and locations, and don’t forget to call 718-961-7600 to reserve your bus seat.
