Dear Bronx Science Families,
We are always promoting the value of parental engagement at the high school level. Studies show that parent involvement has a measurable impact on student performance. Over the next few weeks, you will have a few opportunities to check in at the school, and we hope that you will take advantage of them.
For parents of students on winter sports teams, there will be a meeting on Tuesday that will start just as practices are ending. Plan to attend and spend some commuting time with your teen.
For parents of students in 11th or 12th grade, you won’t want to miss the school’s Financial Aid night on Wednesday to learn the ins and outs of paying for college.
The following week, all parents are invited to the December Parents’ Association meeting, one that will feature a very special guest speaker who will discuss, you guessed it, how parents can help kids navigate the adolescent years.
Details for all these upcoming events are below. We hope to see you at one (or more) of them.
Yours,
Ellen Dubin and Betsy Newberry
Parents’ Association Co-Presidents
