May 25, 2015
Dear Bronx Science Families,
We hope you all had a relaxing and rewarding holiday weekend. It was very nice of the weather to cooperate for us.
Thank you to all who attended the PA meeting last Tuesday. The amended by-laws were approved. We presented the PA budget for the 2015-16 school year, which is to be voted on at the June meeting. Click here to access the draft budget. The Nominating Committee gave their report and we will vote on their proposed slate of candidates for the Executive Board at the June meeting as well. SLT candidates should be present as that election will take place that evening also.
There are three distinct volunteer opportunities coming up, providing a wonderful chance to participate before the close of the year. There is the Hackathon on Saturday, May 30th, the Open House for 7th grade students and parents on Wednesday, June 3rd, and Incoming Student Orientation Day on Thursday, June 4th. Check the links below for all the info you need to volunteer and help out.
A special thank you from the PA to Ellen Dubin for organizing Bronx Science’s inaugural participation in the the Bronx Week Parade on Sunday, May 17th. A committed and stalwart crew of parents and students were on hand, and their reception at the reviewing stand was enthusiastic and sincere. We’re looking forward to next year’s parade already.
We look forward to seeing many of you over the closing weeks of the school year.
