Dear Bronx Science Families,
The next two weeks are filled with informative and important events for both parents and children. Hopefully we can all find the time to take advantage of these opportunities.
Our General PA Meeting will be held this Tuesday, April 21st from 7 pm to 9 pm. We have a very ambitious program lined up for you. The overall focus is “Adolescent Mental Heath” and there will be four workshops: Adolescent Anxiety and Depression, Managing Internet Overuse/Addiction, Sleep for Teens, and Substance Misuse. You will have the opportunity to choose to attend two of the four that evening. You should have already received an email from Cindy Golan which allows you to register for the workshops. These workshops are the perfect opportunity to learn more about the most recent research in these fields and to hear from other parents. As always, free Vallo transportation is provided. We hope to see you there.
At our April meeting this Tuesday there will also be an Election for the Nominating Committee, which will prepare the slate of candidates for the 2015-16 Executive Board. Anyone interested in participating should let the PA know prior to that meeting. The SLT will hold its April meeting on Tuesday, April 28th from 4 pm to 6 pm in Principal Donahue’s office. As always parents and caregivers are invited to attend.
We’re excited that so many of you will be joining us at our Annual Spring Auction and Dinner, Thursday, April 30th, at Landmark on the Park on the Upper West Side. The evening promises to be filled with fabulous food and drink, wonderful entertainment, lively auctions, and a chance to meet and party with our terrific parent community. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled evening! Thank you to those of you who have volunteered and/or contributed or solicited donations. For those of you who haven’t, there’s still time! Also, our Online Auction launches today, April 20th through April 27th. Be sure to keep checking back, we’ll be adding new items everyday! For more details on everything, please see below.
