Dear Fellow Bronx Science Parents & Guardians,
We hope that all is well with you and your families.
It’s time to get excited about the Fall Open House, to be held this Tuesday, October 15, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM! For those who have never been able to attend a Bronx Science Open House, this is a high energy event which requires a lot of parent/guardian involvement. Our role is to answer parent questions about our children’s experience and to feed our student volunteers. We are very grateful to those who have already signed up to help at the Open House but more volunteers are needed! We encourage you to sign up for this fun and important event! Sign-ups can be found HERE. Volunteer slots begin at 3:30 PM and end at 7:30 PM, varying in length.
We are also gearing up for our fall elections, to be held remotely at 7:00 PM this Thursday, October 17, via Zoom. Registration is required to attend and will be open through this Wednesday night at 9:00 PM. Please click HERE to register for the meeting and HERE for the meeting agenda. A link to attend the meeting will be emailed to those who have registered. The PA meeting will not be recorded, except for the election portion of the meeting.
During this meeting, we will be conducting our fall election to fill spots reserved for 9th and new 10th grade parents and guardians. The PA appreciates all the nominees who stepped forward to bring their diverse skills to the PA Executive Board and the School Leadership Team. Please note that the nomination process has closed, but nominations will be taken from the floor during the election for the SLT position only. Please email nominations@bxsciencepa.org if you have any questions.
Prior to the election, we are delighted to welcome faculty member Jep Jonson for a special presentation about supporting your child with organizational and time management skills. It can be challenging to find the right balance between supporting our teens with organization and letting them find their own way, and we hope this program will assist you and your child with navigating these hurdles. The PA meeting will not be recorded, except for the election portion of the meeting.
We hope you will be able to attend the October 22 Coffee with The Principal and Safety Town Hall Meeting. This session provides an in-person opportunity for our parents and guardians to hear from those who work hard to keep the entire school community safe! Following the presentation, parents and guardians are invited for a special tour of our school’s Holocaust Museum.

Now…get ready for an evening filled with hilarity and good cheer! We are thrilled about the return of our LIVE Comedy night at Gotham Comedy Club on Tuesday, December 3! All Bronx Science parents, guardians, teachers, staff, and admin are invited to this adult-only event. Please see the Comedy Night post for more details.
We hope that those who celebrated Yom Kippur this weekend had a meaningful fast.
