Dear Bronx Science Families,
March appears to be coming in like a lion today as our never-ending winter continues. Two nice things to remember: It should “go out like a lamb”, and Daylight Savings Time arrives next weekend!
The PA has two major volunteer opportunities this month, and many are needed. The first is Accepted Students Night on Wednesday, March 18th from approximately 5pm to 8pm, when hundreds of parents and accepted students visit Bronx Science for tours and a wealth of information on the terrific education they will receive here. PA volunteers will be positioned mainly in the lobby and the cafeteria to answer questions from parents and children on what awaits them here. In addition, we’ll be selling PA merchandise in the lobby. Please go on the PA website to volunteer. The second is the night of Parent/Teacher conferences on Thursday, March 26th. The PA provides dinner for the faculty and administration in the cafeteria prior to the start of conferences. Volunteers are needed from 3pm to 7pm for setup, serving, and cleanup. Whatever time you can spare will be greatly appreciated. As before, go on the PA website to volunteer. The more the merrier!!
The March PA General Meeting will be on Tuesday, March 17th from 7pm to 9pm. We’ll have much more information in next week’s EBlast, but part of the program will involve the PA itself, i.e., our role, the Executive Board and the positions available for next year, and all the ways in which parents can be involve for the good of the school and our children.
Please come out and support the student-run S!NG productions this week. The kids have worked tirelessly getting ready to entertain you. Shows are Thursday, March 5th at 4pm, Friday, March 6th at 4pm and 8pm, and Saturday, March 7th at 12 noon, all in the auditorium. Previous email indicated a performance on Sunday instead of Saturday, there is no performance on Sunday, sorry about the error.
The Auction is now less than two months away, on Thursday, April 30th at the Landmark on the Park. Invitations will go out shortly. If you have items to donate, or wish to volunteer, please email auctionchair@bxsciencepa.org. More info to follow in the coming weeks.
