Dear Fellow Bronx Science Parents and Guardians,

We hope that the sunshine this week brightened everyone’s spirits and is a sign of warmer days to come!

A reminder that our monthly PA meeting will be held this Tuesday, February 13. Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM, after which our PA business will commence at 7 PM. Parents/guardians will have a choice between attending one of two special panel presentations. For 9th-11th grade parents/guardians, there will be a courtesy repeat of the course selection process that was presented by Assistant Principals Dr. Allison Davis and Andrew Nasser at the last Coffee with the Principal. Twelfth grade parents/guardians are invited to join a panel of parents of recent Bronx Science grads to hear about the “Things I Wish I Knew Before My Kid Went to College” which we expect to be both enlightening and entertaining!

We know that it can be challenging to attend evening in-person meetings, and we are very grateful to those who are able to attend. These meetings are informative, and your presence adds to our presentations and helps build our community. If you did not have a chance to RSVP for one panel or the other, please do so by clicking here.

During the PA business portion of our meeting, we will also introduce and elect the Nominating Committee for our May elections. Please find the agenda for the evening here. January minutes will be voted on and can be found here. There will not be a remote option for this meeting, and we remind you that PA meetings are not recorded, except for elections. Now we turn our attention to building a core committee of Hospitality volunteers. The Hospitality team provides refreshments at meetings and Coffees with the Principal, serves food to volunteers at events, and hosts several celebratory events throughout the year and at year’s end. More hands make lighter work. Please email president@bxsciencepa.org if you are interested in joining this team.

The next Coffee with the Principal will be held on Thursday, February 15 at 8:30 AM, and will provide an overview of the three-year Bronx Science Research Program, led by Dr. Allison Davis and a panel of research students, followed by a tour of the Manne Institute. Please RSVP for this in-person event here by Tuesday, February 13 at 9 AM.
