We need volunteers!
By the nature of being part of high school, there is a consistent need for new parents to join the PA. Our kids are here for four years, and so are we! So, even as a parent of an incoming freshmen, it’s always the perfect time to join in.
Browse through this list of committees and teams and identify one that sounds interesting. Then, send an email. This is your chance to meet other parents and contribute to your child’s incredible journey at Bronx Science. This is just a sample of the many ways you can help but we have other committees that require help. If you have other skills or talents and want to explore ways you can help our community, please include details when filling out your volunteer form.
Newsletter Team
Our weekly newsletter is a critical and valuable resource for our parents/guardians and we are hoping to add to our Newsletter and Translation Teams this year. These teams operate remotely in concert with the co-presidents who author the newsletter. The team members work on layout, graphics, photos and videos for the newsletter and the translation team translates the document into written Chinese. Translation into other languages (e.g., Korean, Bangali) could be possible only if we have additional volunteers. Nominating Committee
We hold two elections each year, one in the fall and one in the spring and we are looking for more volunteers for the Nominating Committee which sponsors and runs the elections. Merchandise Committee
The Merchandise Committee is also looking for members to support its work. We are looking for more volunteers to support their work and volunteer at some of the events during which we sell our fabulous merchandise! Hospitality Committee
The Hospitality Committee provides food service at our PA meetings, the school’s monthly Principal’s meetings, staff breakfasts and luncheons, Open Houses, orientations and more. This is a vital committee which benefits, in particular, from members who live near to the school (although that is not required!). It also provides a great way to get involved and meet other parents. No experience is necessary! Spring Gala Committee
The Gala Committee plans and executes a wonderful community-building and fundraising event each spring! If you have a background in event planning, enjoy throwing a party, or have a background in fundraising, we need you! Our 2025 Spring Gala was a sold-out success, and we are looking for additional committee members to help plan our most highly anticipated event of the year. This role can be flexible! Webmaster Team
We are also eager to add members to our Webmaster Team that manages our PA website. This team works remotely to post items and information on our website and we would love to expand. While technology experience is preferred it is not required as we can train you! Technology Committee
The Technology Committee is looking for co-chairs and volunteer members! Throughout the year, we hold monthly PA meetings which are either in person or fully remote. There is a technology component to each meeting as well as at certain events that we support. We would be grateful for any support, particularly from parents/guardians with a technology background although that is not required! Facebook Committee
The Facebook Committee administrates our PA Facebook page, moderates threads and validates requests for membership. Let us know if you can help out on this committee that can work remotely and/or on your mobile device. Audit Committee
Paul Goldfarb chairs our annual audit. We do need alternate members will be asked to reserve the audit date to step in if needed, and will also be welcomed and encouraged to attend as audit observers. This is a three-hour commitment on an afternoon in early June to be determined by the committee. No finance or audit experience is necessary.
IEP Subcommittee
Nicole Allen, Brian Schwartz and Kate Sussman lead the IEP subcommittee.
Senior Graduation Toolkit
Every year we post an assortment of designs to choose from to create special banners, signs, and other decorations to add flair to your celebrations. This handy toolkit is prepared by Alex Chirinian.
