News from our Co-Presidents – December 8, 2022

These in-person meetings are a vital part of our mission to build a robust Bronx Science community, so we hope that you will make an effort to attend our gathering and meeting in person this month.A reminder that you are cordially invited to our upcoming in-person PA meeting this Tuesday, December 13. Our featured speaker will be Bronx Science Alumni Foundation VP and class of ’99 graduate, Eleanor Coufos, and she has a lot to share with us! Please join us to find out how our kids can make the most out of their summers and learn more about the Alumni Foundation, a critical contributor to the success of our students and school.

The evening will start at 6:00 PM with pre-meeting festivities in the gymnasium. Come grab a bite to eat and be prepared to do some holiday shopping at our Bronx Science swag sale!

To assist our preparation for this event, we kindly ask your help with the following.

• RSVP to president@bxsciencepa.org if you will be attending. Although not required, it is incredibly helpful for our hard-working hospitality team to plan for the event.

• Volunteer. Please consider signing up here for set-up, food service, merchandise sales and/or clean-up. We cannot run these events without your help.

• Buy Bronx Science swag at our in-person meeting! Proceeds from these sales support our students. We received a new shipment of inventory, so those of you wondering when and where you can buy merchandise, this is a great chance to do so.

• Bring a bottle of wine for the Spring Gala Wine Pull (see below for details).Please note per Department of Education mandate, school visitors need to present photo identification and proof of COVID-19 vaccination. For those of you unable to attend in person, details for a remote option will be provided in this Sunday’s e-newsletter.We look forward to seeing you on December 13th!Sincerely,

An easy and helpful way to participate in our annual gala is to donate a bottle of wine for our Wine Pull. A wine pull is a fun activity that takes place during the gala. Gala attendees can purchase (or pull) a number to win the corresponding wrapped, mystery bottle of wine from our donated collection. We’ll have some very special high-end wines to generate extra excitement throughout the evening!

Please consider donating a bottle (or several!) of any type of wine (red, white, rose, sparkling etc.). We encourage that the minimum cost of each bottle be $20 so that everyone gets a winner, but we appreciate ALL donations!

– Drop off your wine donations at the Parent Association meetings. Gala Committee members will be at the December 13th meeting to collect donations.

– Donating a case? We’ll come pick it up!
