Dear Fellow Parents & Guardians:
| Tomorrow the mask mandate will be lifted in NYC public schools. We cannot overstate the tangible and symbolic value of this moment. While the progress we have made that has led to this decision is certainly cause to celebrate, we remain vigilant about future developments and cognizant of the toll the last two years has taken on our nation, our city, our school community and our families. We also want to emphasize that it will remain the choice of each Bronx Science student and staff member to continue to wear or not wear a mask — and those choices should be respected. All that said, for now, let’s rejoice! Please also join us in celebrating Women’s History Month. This year’s theme pays tribute to the ceaseless work of caregivers and frontline workers during this ongoing pandemic and also a recognition of the thousands of ways that women of all cultures have provided both healing and hope throughout history. |
| Thank you to all of our families who supported the PA and the school by attending last week’s Bronx Science Comedy Night. We raised over $6,000 in the funniest way imaginable. Thank you to comedian and former Bronx Science parent Zarna Garg for assembling an uproarious lineup including comedians Maz Jobrani, Cory Kahaney and Tehran. And thank you to parent Mirav Khen for helping to organize it. |
