Dear Bronx Science Families:
Welcome to the 2018-19 school year! Please read below to learn how YOU can be part of our vibrant school community.
Please join us at school for our first PA meeting on Thursday, Sept. 27, at 7:00 PM.
You will hear from our principal, Dr. Jean Donahue, and members of the administration. We will have breakout sessions for each grade; guidance counselors will talk about what your child can expect this coming school year.
Please get involved.
We invite you, and encourage you, to get involved with the Parents’ Association. It is a wonderful way to meet other families, and to stay fully informed about the amazing opportunities Bronx Science offers your child.
Some events coming up soon are:
- Merchandise Sales at Freshman Parent Meeting– Sept. 20, Thursday, 6:00pm-8:00pm. Help sell Bronx Science merchandise to our newest families.
- Project Accepted– Sept. 22, Saturday, 8:00am-3:00pm. Help serve food to more than 100 Bronx Science alumni and about 500 12th-grade students.
- Fall Open House for 8thgrade students – Oct. 3, Wednesday 5:00pm-7:00pm. Greet prospective students and their families, and answer their questions about our school.

Please make a donation to the Parents’ Association.
Bronx Science gives our children a world-class education, but achieving this takes greater funding than the NYC DOE allocates. The Parents’ Association fills many of the gaps. Here’s some of what PA donations help pay for:
-computers & technology upgrades -academic & sports teams -after-school clubs
-Guidance/College Office expenses -students’ daily planners -theater & arts programs
-online tools (e.g., Naviance, Pupil Path) -student award dinners -locker repairs…
…and many more! This year, our PA fundraising goal is $250,000. Our suggested donation is $500 per student, but any amount is welcome and greatly appreciated! Please donate on the website or by mail, or by text BXSCI to 56512.The PA is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and your gift may be tax deductible. Also, ask your employer to match your gift!
