Dear Bronx Science parents,
Interim report cards were distributed a few days ago, so hopefully you have a good sense of your child’s academic performance so far this school year. In less than two weeks, you’ll have a chance to meet your child’s teachers at the Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences. (By the way, we still need volunteers to help serve dinner to teachers and to sell BxSci merchandise. If you have a few spare hours on Nov. 9 and 10, please volunteer!)
We hope you’re planning to come to school this Thursday evening as well. The Bronx Science College Office presents Paying for College Night on Nov. 2nd from 7-9pm, to help BxSci parents learn more about the ins and outs of funding a college education. The speaker will be Michael Fraher, who has 35 years of financial aid administration experience. Mr. Fraher has served on committees for the College Board and has spoken about financial aid topics at the state and national levels. Vallo will be providing free bus service to parents from Manhattan and Queens; please call 1-718-961-7600 by Wednesday at noon to reserve a bus seat.
There will be several great events happening at school in November, and we hope to see many of you in the Bronx over the next few weeks. In the meantime, Happy Halloween! (Keep in mind that all after-school activities are cancelled on Halloween, Oct. 31.)
Elizabeth Langwith and Monica Toriello
PA Co-Presidents
P.S. November 28th is #GivingTuesday! More on that next week. #BxSciGives
