News from our Co-Presidents: March 27, 2022

Dear Fellow Parents & Guardians:

Those of you who joined us for last week’s PA meeting were treated to a panel discussion for the ages. Five Bronx Science students shared their experiences and wisdom with us around a sensitive topic: How to Have Difficult Conversations with Teens. As we have come to expect, moderator AP Andrew Nasser’s prompts were both thought provoking and elicited a breathtaking range of emotions from those in attendance. If you didn’t get a chance to tune in, you can view it in entirety here.

For those who have been looking for an opportunity to volunteer for various PA and school functions (especially in hospitality), now is your chance. Parents interested in helping with food service and logistics at various Spring events, please contact us at president@bxsciencepa.org .

Alumni in the News: last year’s PA Book Club participants will remember Pachinko fondly. Min Jin Li ’86 discusses her research process and her memories of arriving in America in this fascinating recent New Yorker piece. Fans might also be interested in the upcoming eight-part adaptation coming soon to Apple TV+.

Finally, please mark your calendars. The next PA meeting will be IN PERSON on Thursday, April 28th at 7:00pm. Topic: to be announced soon. Stay tuned for some special “pregame” festivities.

Cheers,

Jerome Kramer & Cliff Stanton
