Bronx High School of Science Parents' Assocation

News from our Co-Presidents: June 19, 2022

Dear Fellow Parents & Guardians:

A month of celebration and recognition is in full swing, and the PA has been in the thick of it all, from running a merchandise sale on Alumni Day last Sunday, to catering a dinner following the Senior Awards Ceremony on Monday, to supplying ice cream for the Senior Sendoff on Friday, to helping support students at the Senior Prom at Chelsea Piers last night. As we mentioned at our final PA meeting of the year on Wednesday (see recording here), one of our greatest pleasures as PA co-presidents has been witnessing first-hand all of our kids celebrating with classmates and friends at events such as these. We share their pride in everything they have achieved and their hope for the bright future ahead of them.
Of course, one of the great steps toward those tomorrows is this Thursday’s graduation ceremony. With that in mind, we want to recognize Executive Board members Joli Golden and Weilin Li-Marabello and School Leadership Team member Kathy Qi, whose students will be graduating, along with members Danielle Donovan and Ken Ho and SLT member Junnie Mark-Kobashi, who have completed their terms. On behalf of a grateful PA, we thank them for their incredible work for the school and our kids. And we will never forget the counsel, wisdom and support they provided to us over the past two years.

Cultural Day!

In case you missed it last week, we are thrilled to announce that the redesigned Bronx Science website is live! www.bxscience.edu
A big THANK YOU to the Website Committee members. They stepped up to the call for help to redesign our school’s website, and we appreciate their thoughtful and detailed recommendations. We believe our new website proudly represents Bronx Science!
An extra big THANK YOU goes out to AP Phoebe Cooper, the admin point person for the redesign, for working tirelessly with the committee and responding cheerfully to any and every request from the committee leaders. In short, the site redesign could not have happened without her.
Lastly, a special THANK YOU to Principal Rachel Hoyle for her support during every stage of the site redesign process as well as her invaluable input and insight.

Checkout our new school website!

Finally, we ask all parents (especially seniors) to send us photos of your June celebrations for possible inclusion in an end-of-year photo montage.
Wolverines forever!
