Dear Bronx Science Families,
June is upon us, the final month of the school year, filled with exams, awards, Regents, and celebrations!!
As our seniors wind down their Bronx Science experience, culminating with their June 24th Graduation ceremony, a new generation of potential, and accepted, Bronx Science students prepare to embark on their own educational journey. Wednesday, June 3rd, from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm, is the Open House for 7th grade students and their parents. The PA needs volunteers to greet prospective families and to be available to answer whatever questions they may have. Thursday, June 4th is Incoming Students Orientation Day, starting at 8:30 am. The PA is hosting a Meet & Greet for parents in the cafeteria starting at 9:00 am. We need volunteers to help set up, be available to answer questions, and to sell school merchandise. Please click on the links below to volunteer. Both events are highly worthwhile opportunities and they help serve to bring the PA to the attention of all interested parents.
The PA will hold it’s final General Meeting of this school year on Wednesday, June 10th at 7:00 pm. We have much business to attend to, including approving the 2015-16 PA budget, electing the 2015-16 PA Executive Board, and filling two vacancies on the SLT for next year. A slate for the Executive Board will be sent to parents in advance of the meeting.
Also, nominations will also be taken from the floor. Please make sure to attend and take part in the proceedings. In addition, there will be a panel of last year’s graduates to speak about, and answer questions about, their experiences as first-year college students. It should be a very informative and interesting evening.
The final “Breakfast with the Principal” will take place this Wednesday, June 3rd at 8:30 am. Please check the Bronx Science website for more information or you may click on the link below to RSVP for the breakfast.
